Connection: Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children

The area where Jake's grandfather lives reminds me a lot of the place where my Grandpa used to live. The place mentioned in the book is called "Circle Village" and my Grandpa used to live in "Leisure World". There's one similarity-funny little names. They both also serve the same purpose. Provinding housing facilities for the retired and elderly. The description is also very similar. A guard post at the entrance, little cultasacks for the houses, easy to get lost there, (I've done it many times while visiting him) and of course, the overly decorated lawns filled with pink flamingoes, garden gnomes, and pinwheels. Also there are lots of people walking their dogs. This part of the story reminds me a lot of old times, and it's funny to know that there are other little quirky areas like Leisure World. :)
